The Formation Of General Motors

General Motors, the worlds largest automobile maker, was founded in 1902 by a man named William Durant. Originally, General Motors was a holding company for Buick. At the time, carriages were used more than cars but William Durant, the smart man he was, had a clear vision of the future and it all pointed towards cars. At latter years the company grew larger by aquiring Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Oakland and Elmore but that was only the beginning. The company sored to new heights around the early 1900's when at the moment small companies were in financial exigency due to the stock markets panicking drop in those years. William Durant knew this chance was golden. He did not hesitate in buying various companies in which he knew he would benefit from. Car builders, maker of parts and accessories were forged into one making in 1908 the General Motors we know today.
